"Viviane's Tears"
©2008 D.M. Le Bris
This is my second oil pastel on paper this week.
I love the atmosphere and richness of colors that oil pastel creates.
This is an imaginary landscape.
Brittany, were I spent my summer vacations as a school girl
was the inspiration.

Painting in Progress - Steps 1,2 and 3.
"Pompeii"
©2008 D.M. Le Bris
#3
This is the final step of the painting.
I decided to turn it upside down.
I like its story-telling quality better.
Some details still need to be worked on,
mostly in the red mountain shape, in the lower portion.
I find this area too transparent.
"Pompeii" seems a very appropriate title for this painting.
Please, watch the video I linked to about Pompeii.

"Magical City"
©2008 D.M. Le Bris
Today, I thought I would post one of my miniatures.
I painted this from memory.
While walking through a bird sanctuary,
I remember enjoying the peaceful sounds of nature
and the reflections in the water.
Looking up, toward the horizon I saw a city,
a fog caressing its buildings.
Suddenly, it was transformed into a mysterious
and magical place.
Acrylic on wood.
